Research
Milbrath’s research focuses on identifying risk factors that affect the health of honey bees and other pollinators. Her lab takes an interdisciplinary approach rooted in epidemiology, environmental health and risk assessment to understand threats to pollinator health, particularly during crop pollination. Current projects examine how nutrition and pesticide exposure influence disease development and colony health, along with basic research on common honey bee pests and pathogens. By integrating field, laboratory, and computational studies, her program works to generate practical insights that support pollinator health and sustainability.
